"Eravamo in tanti" è il diario del partigiano Eros Sequi. Un diario anomalo, perché la resistenza Sequi l'ha fatta non in Italia ma in Jugoslavia, andando "non in montagna" ma "in bosco", come dicevano gli uomini di Tito.
Sequi è stato uno dei 40.000 italiani che combatterono nazisti e fascisti nei Balcani. Un numero di resistenti superiore perfino a quello degli italiani che combatterono nel nostro paese. Il prezzo pagato fu enorme: 20.000 di loro morirono armi in pugno.
Eros Sequi, l'8 settembre del 1943, era addetto culturale presso l'ambasciata italiana. Decise di raggiungere le brigate partigiane che controllavano i luoghi attorno alla capitale croata. La sua fu, poi, una scelta definitiva. Rimase in Jugoslavia per costruire il socialismo insegnando la nostra lingua all'università di Belgrado.
